DykeLab GmbH

DykeLab is the venture of five established companies that are committed to making it easier for prospective founders to emerge as independent companies. Many years of experience and in-depth know-how enable them to help new start-ups implement their first major project or to support existing companies in developing a trend-setting concept. At the same time, any aspiring or existing founder can become part of the DykeLab network by participating in new projects as an implementation partner or investor.

FabLab Emden-Leer

FabLab is available to students from all faculties and provides space for ecveryone with an idea for a project – alone or in a team.Models for collaborative projects are for example the solar boat and the HyperpodX. Both teams have move to FabLab and benefit from each other. FabLab offers modern equipment with hoigh and low technology in addition to typical hand tools, Small devices like 3D printer, soldering stations can be operated; heavy equipment like CNC milling machines or water jet cutter are operated in the Workshob. There is a cooperation with the DesignLab as well for laser cutters and the RP lab for other additive manufacturing technology.

MeerCommunity

MeerCommunity is Hochschule Emden/Leer’s own start-up center. It is an EXIST project funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi). It aims to create optimal conditions for start-ups and those eager to become a start-up at the University.

ZernikeLab

The ZernikeLab is the Lab facilitator of Groningen. The ZernikeLab is over 2,600 m² in size and is located on a site of approximately 1 hectare and has ample parking facilities on site. In total there are 80 parking spaces divided between the front and rear of the location.

Young Business Awards (YBA)

The start-up competition Young Business Award consists of three start-up events in which the best start-ups from the Netherlands compete against each other to become the ‘Best Young Business in the Netherlands’. It is also the meeting place for entrepreneurs, professionals and investors. The largest start-up competition in the Netherlands consists of two semi-finals in Groningen and Friesland each year. Followed by an exciting final in Emmen. Every year, 1,400 visitors together visit the three start-up events of the Young Business Award. Every networking event of the Young Business Award is freeto visit. The winner will receive the crystal award, the title ‘Best young company in the Netherlands’ and the prize pool of 15,000 euros.
